What are dermal fillers, and how do they work?

Dermal fillers are injectable treatments made from substances like hyaluronic acid, which is a naturally occurring substance in the skin. They are used to add volume, smooth out wrinkles, and enhance facial features by plumping up areas that have lost volume or definition over time. Fillers work by filling in wrinkles, lines, or hollows and providing a lifting and smoothing effect.

How long do fillers last?

The duration of filler results varies depending on the type of filler used, the area treated, and individual factors like metabolism and lifestyle. Typically, fillers last between 6 to 18 months, with some fillers providing longer-lasting effects.

Will I look overdone or unnatural after fillers?

When administered by a skilled practitioner, fillers provide natural-looking enhancements. The goal is to enhance your features subtly, maintaining a balanced and harmonious look. A thorough consultation will ensure the treatment aligns with your desired outcome.

How should I prepare for a filler appointment?

To minimize the risk of bruising, avoid blood-thinning medications, alcohol, and certain supplements (like vitamin E, fish oil) for at least 48-72 hours before your appointment. It’s also important to stay hydrated and inform your practitioner of any allergies or medical conditions.
